Ans: Anne’s diary is a mix up of a diary and a journal. She uses her own style while making entries in her diary. Originally it was written in Dutch. It is different because she has not used the diary format. 

3. Why does Anne need to give a brief sketch about her family? Does she treat ‘kitty’ as an insider or outsider? 

Ans: Anne feels a need to give a brief sketch of her life because no one would understand a word of her stories to kitty. She treated ‘ kitty’ as an insider. 

4. How does Anne feel about her father, her grandmother, Mrs kuperus and Mr. Keesing? What do these tell you about her? 

Ans: Anne feels that her father was the most adorable father in the world. She had great love for her grandmother and the same love to Mrs. Kuperus. But she terms Mr. Keesing, the maths teacher ‘an old fogey’ though she had regards for him. 

5. What does Anne write in her first essay? 

Ans: In her first essay Anne writes that talking is a student’s trait. She will try her best to talk less but it will not be possible because she has inherited this quality from her another. 

6. Anne says teachers are most unpredictable. Is Mr. Keesing unpredictable? 

Ans: Of course, Mr. Keesing is unpredictable. He gives Anne home assignment one after another. But at least he allows Anne to talk in the class.

Keeping was trying to play a joke on me with this ridiculous subject, but I’d make sure the joke was on him.

Ans: Writing a diary was a strange experience for Anne Frank because she did never  write anything before and no one  would be interested to read the thoughts of a thirteen- year – Old school-girl.

Ans : Anne Frank was an  intelligent girl. She did not have a real friend to share her ideas. So, she wanted to keep a diary to compensate the  absence of a real friend. She could not talk about anything but everyday things. She decided to put down these in her diary.

Ans : Anne says that her father was the most adorable father she has ever seen. He married her mother when he was thirty six and her mother was twenty- five.

5. Why was Mr. Keeping unhappy with Anne? 

Ana: Mr. Keeping was the mathematics teacher of Anne. He was unhappy and annoyed with her because she talked much. He warned her not to do so. But she could not help talking. And the teacher gave her extra homework.

8. How did Anne make a joke on mr. Keesing? 

Ans : Mr. Keesing asked Anne to write an essay on ” quack, quack, quack. Said mistress chatterbox.” in fact, the teacher was trying to play a joke on Anne. But she wrote it in verse. It was about a father Swan who killed his three ducklings because they quacked much. Anne made the joke her on teacher meaning him to be the father Swan. 

9. How did Mr. Keesing react to Anne’s last essay? 

Ans : Fortunately, Mr. Keesing took the joke the right way. He read the poem to the class adding his own comments. He also read it in several classes. And Anne was allowed to talk. No extra assignment was imposed upon her. Mr. Keeping used to make jokes thereafter.

Ans: Anne Frank was an intelligent girl. She was only thirteen but was mature like an adult. She was responsible and sensible though she was talkative. She was lonely and wanted to have a real friend with whom she could share her feeling. She made her diary her friend. The way she tackled her teacher Mr. Keeping proves that she was not only extraordinary intelligent but also sensible and patient and she had self- respect. She loved her parents and grandmother very much.

2. How did Anne make fun of Mr. Keeping? What was the result?

Ans: Mr. Keeping was anne Frank’s mathematics 

teacher. He was annoyed with Anne because she was very much talkative. So to stop her thinking he gave her extra assignments. At first he asked her to write an essay on “A chatterbox”. But Anne wrote it intelligently pleading that talking was a student’s trait. Again she was given another topic: ‘An incorrigible chatterbox “. She wrote. And finally the teacher asked her to write another essay :” quack, quack, quack, said mistress chatterbox. “in fact, the teacher was trying to play a joke on Anne. But Anne wrote in verse and made sure that the joke was on the teacher. She wrote how a father duck killed his three ducklings because they quacked too much.

Thus Anne made fun of Mr. Keesing.
